Drops of Wine Necklace Instructions Designed by Cynthia Kimura
Drops of Wine is a wonderful expression of power and represents this fall's trend of contrast. With its layered Swarovski crystals and natural pearls paired with delicate hand-dyed silk, all in rich shades of purple, this necklace is ideal for making a statement in both casual and elegant situations.
Step one: Cut the gunmetal-plated round links on round cable chain into one 9-inch long piece using side cutters.
Step two: Thread the following beads onto a 24-gauge 2-inch head pin:
One Miyuki 11/0 galvanized light yellow delica bead
One purple rice freshwater pearl bead
Three Miyuki beads
Repeat this four more times, and attach each pearl to the center of your cable chain by finishing with a wrapped loop. Make sure they hang together in a line across the center of the chain.
Step three: Attach each Swarovski 15mm teardrop pendant in Amethyst to a 5.5mm gunmetal-plated 21 gauge open jump ring and attach each one to the center of your chain in a random fashion so they surround your pearls. For help with jump rings, visit our Handy Tips video.
Step four: Cut the blue/plum blend hand-dyed silk into two equal 16-inch long pieces. You may adjust your size to fit your desired length. Glue one end of each string to a JBB gunmetal-plated pewter ancient design crimp end and clamp down with nylon jaw pliers. Step five: Attach one open jump ring to each crimp end and connect your crimp ends to each end of your link chain.
