Your style will be singing a soulful tune when you wear this cool necklace. Inspired by mixed media beauty and nature's finest crooners, this earth-toned idea is perfect for accenting casual outfits suited for spring.
Note: When using the ICE Resin, each time you mix you will have enough for multiple pieces of jewelry, so you might want to have other pieces ready so as to not waste the mix. For help with Ice Resin, visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center.
Step one:
Cut the bird image from the nature collage paper to fit the Nunn Design antique silver-plated pewter grande rectangle link. Cut out a corner symbol from the Decorative Words Nunn Design transfer sheet and place it on top of the bird image, then coat the images in Nunn Design Sealant to prevent the ink from bleeding. Let dry completely. Repeat.
Step two:
Apply a coat of sealant to the inside of the link and then press the cut-out image into the link. Let dry completely. Mix together the ICE Resin according to the instructions and pour it into the link, completely covering the image to leave a slight mound. Let the link dry completely.
Step three:
Attach a 1.00x6.10mm sterling silver open jump ring to the top of the link. Attach a 0.90x7.35mm sterling silver open jump ring to a Swarovski 17mm briolette pendant in Topaz, and then connect this jump ring to the bottom of the link. Watch our Handy Tip video to learn how to open and close a jump ring.
Step four:
Cut one piece of jewelry wire approximately 24 inches long. Attach one end to a 1.0x6.10mm sterling silver open jump ring using a sterling 2x2mm crimp tube. Cover the crimp tube with a sterling silver 3mm crimp cover. Read our Handy Tips in the Learning Center on how to use a crimp tube and how to use a crimp cover if you need help.
Step five:
String the following beads onto the wire: three TierraCast 5mm antique silver-plated pewter crown heishi spacers, one 5x4mm crystal Picasso luster roundel bead, one Czech glass aqua beige Picasso roundel bead and one more 5x4mm roundel. Then, string the following pattern five times:
one spacer
one 5x4mm roundel
one Czech glass roundel
one 5x4mm roundel
one spacer
one decoupage teal with cream birds, butterflies and flowers oval bead
String one spacer and three more 5x4mm roundels, and then add the bird link. Create a mirror image on the other side of the link for the remainder of the wire.
Step six:
Finish the other end of the wire with a second jump ring, crimp tube and crimp cover.
Step seven:
Attach each part of the JBB sterling star-shaped flower toggle clasp to its own 1.00x6.10mm open jump ring. Connect one to each of the other 1.00x6.10mm jump rings on the ends of the necklace.
