Square Dance Necklace Instructions Designed by Cynthia Kimura
This multi-dimensional necklace reflects the fashion world's obsession with galactic imagery but with a tribal twist. Add hot metallic flair to your spring palette with this stylish, sophisticated design.
Step one: Cut one piece of jewelry wire approximately 3 inches long. String the following pattern onto the wire:
five TOHO™ 1.5mm bead cubes in matte iris gray
four 15x16mm Jet black dagger Czech beads
five more TOHO's
Step two: Thread both wire ends through a single sterling 2x2mm crimp tube so they lay parallel. Crimp the tube to hold the ends in place and trim any excess wire. Read our Handy Tip on how to use a crimp tool if you need help.
Step three: Glue each Swarovski 20mm cosmic square ring fancy stone in Jet and Crystal CAL V to its own antique silver-plated pewter hammered square link with center cut out using 5-minute two-part epoxy and allow to dry.
Step four: Attach one Crystal CAL V square to the TOHO™ ring using one sterling silver 1.00x9.00mm open jump ring. Attach a second jump ring to the square's other stringing hole and connect it to the Jet square. Connect the other end of the Jet square to the remaining Crystal CAL V square with another jump ring so you end up with a chain. Watch our Handy Tip Video on how to use jump rings if you need help.
Step five: Attach the open end of the second Crystal CAL V square to the JBB antique brass sterling silver plain pinch bail. Simply open the bail with pliers, insert the square's stringing hole and close with nylon jaw pliers.
Step six: Cut the 4mm brown braided leather to the length you like; we chose to use 21 inches. Slide the bail from the square focal onto the leather.
Step seven: Attach one JBB 4mm sterling silver crimp end cap with loop to each end of the 4mm brown braided leather. Read our Handy Tip on how to use a crimp end if you need help.
Step eight: Attach one sterling silver 1.00x6.10mm open jump ring to each crimp end. Connect the bar portion of the antique silver-plated pewter three circle toggle clasp to one jump ring and the loop portion of the clasp to the other.
