The purple tones and sparkling rhinestones in this Fancy Flight necklace give it a decidedly feminine appearance. Feel free to customize the color of the clay and the rhinestones to create just the right piece of jewelry, whether you're making this piece for yourself or a friend.
Step one: Mix the DeCoRé crafters clay in purple velvet together as described in the DeCoRé Handy Tip. Apply a gently mounded section of clay to each recess in the DeCoRé butterfly pendant. Smooth out any fingerprints.
Step two: Press the rhinestones gently into the center of each section. Add the two Swarovski 8mm diamond leaf flatbacks in Light Amethyst to the top sections of the butterfly's wings, the two Swarovski SS12 XILION rose flatbacks in Crystal to the bottom sections and the Swarovski SS12 XILION rose flatback in Crystal AB to the center section. Let the pendant cure in a horizontal position for 24 hours, and then wash it gently with water to bring back the flatbacks' sparkle. Dry with a soft cloth.
Step three: Cut two 8-inch pieces of silver-plated cable chain. Connect the following pieces together from left to right using the four 0.21-inch sterling silver open jump rings: one piece of the silver-plated 8mm No. 1 toggle clasp, an 8-inch piece of chain, the butterfly pendant, an 8-inch piece of chain and the remaining piece of the toggle clasp.
