Tip-toe through a glistening bed of moss that lights up like a moonlit path when you wear this mystical piece. The hidden multipurpose findings and the easy-to-use chain is what makes this elegant piece simple to master. The links on this chain are actually open jump rings so there's no cutting required!
Step one:
Cut one strand of jewelry wire approximately 27 inches long. Measure out two strands of gunmetal-plated 1 to 3 textured oval link chain approximately 7 inches long. Remember, the links of this chain are open jump rings. Simply open the jump rings closest to the measurement and leave one jump ring on the end for attaching later. Watch our Handy Tip video on how to open and close a jump ring if you need help. Set the chain strands aside for now.
Step two:
Thread the jewelry wire through the center hole of one sterling silver magic multipurpose finding. Leave approximately 2 ½ inches of wire sticking out of one end of the magic finding. String a random pattern of TOHO 3mm magatama beads in higher-metallic dragonfly, gold-lined aqua AB and gold-lined peridot AB onto approximately 7 inches of the longer strand. Thread the wire through a side hole on a second magic finding. Then, bring the wire back down through the second magic finding using the hole closest to the one you just used (not the center hole) and pull the jewelry wire tight so it lays flat against the finding. Allow a bit of space between the beads and the finding to prevent the beads from breaking.
Step three:
String a second random pattern of beads as in step two. Bring the wire back through a side hole in the first magic finding, and then back down through the hole closest to the one you just used. String one last beaded strand, but this time add three Unicorne Beads forest mix boro glass teardrops in a cluster, repeating four more times throughout. Thread the wire through the center hole of the second Magic Finding. Read our Handy Tip on how to use a magic finding if you need help.
Step four:
Hide the multipurpose findings by sliding one white silver-plated brass small Viking end cap over each and threading the remaining wire strand through.
Step five:
String four more TOHO beads onto one wire strand. Attach the wire to one end of one chain strand using a sterling silver 2x2mm crimp tube. Cover the crimp tube with a sterling silver 3mm sandblasted crimp cover. Learn how to use a crimp tube and how to use a crimp cover in our Learning Center Handy Tips. Repeat for the other wire end.
Step six:
Connect the loop portion of the antique silver-plated pewter round floral design toggle clasp to one chain end using two 6mm gunmetal-plated 18 gauge open jump rings. Simply attach one to the chain and one to the clasp and then connect the two together. Repeat this process for the other chain, substituting the bar portion of the toggle for the loop portion.
