Your little bundle of joy will surely turn heads in this Swarovski-studded design! The skull design is full of adorable punk attitude and is perfect for the tot that is too-cool-for-pre-school. With the combination of bling and rebel style, this jacket is sure to get noticed.
Step one: Choose a jacket with a blank spot you can embellish. Find a skull and crossbones image that you like and scale it to fit your jacket. We found an image with a thick black outline to make transferring to the jacket easier. Print out two or three copies for backup.
Step two: Cut out each part of the image separately: the overall outline of the image, skull, four bone pieces, eyes, nose and mouth. Use a pencil or a disappearing fabric pen to trace each part of your image onto the jacket. If using a pencil you will need to make sure your lines are not visible once the flatbacks are placed.
Step three: Warm up the BeJeweler® Pro Ergonomic.
Step four: Place a barrier behind the jacket to keep the area smooth and prevent the heat from going through. We recommend using parchment paper or something thicker such as a fabric cutting board.
Step five: Place the flatbacks onto their corresponding positions on the jacket. Use the BeJeweler® Pro Ergonomic to affix the rhinestones to the jacket. For our image we framed each cut-out with Jet colored flatbacks and filled in the rest of the design with flatbacks in Crystal Silver Shade. We used Swarovski 20mm hotfix chessboard circle flatbacks in Jet for the eyes. When using hotfix flatbacks this large you may need to use a clothes iron to heat up the adhesive on the back of the rhinestone once they are placed, otherwise you can use E6000 to affix these to the jacket.
