Old World Santa Ornament Instructions Designed by Cheri Carlson
It's never too early to start planning for Christmas! You'll be ready to ring in tidings of comfort and joy with this charming ornament. The bright red Swarovski rhinestones are appropriate for whatever theme your Christmas decorations are and will look great on your tree!
Step one: Cut out an image to fit inside the Nunn Design antique gold-plated pewter large raised circle tag. We found a charming vintage Santa picture. Glue your image inside the circle tag with Nunn Design glue and coat the image with sealant. Allow to dry for approximately 20 minutes. Fill the tag with Gel du Soleil glaze using the pour spout. Allow the glaze to settle a few minutes, pop any air bubbles. Place the tag under a UV lamp for 20 minutes to cure. Apply a final layer of the glaze until it forms a slight mound and repeat the same process to cure.
Step two: Using a jewel setter, glue the Swarovski SS20 XILION rose flatbacks in Light Siam with Gem-Tac permanent adhesive to the outside frame of the tag from step one. Allow to dry.
Step three: Attach one 6mm antique brass-plated open jump ring to the tag's stringing hole and one 8mm antique brass-plated open jump ring to the 6mm jump ring. For help with jump rings, visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center.
Step four: Cut the antique brass-plated 3+1 medium link chain into one strand 2 1/2 inches long and another piece 2 3/4 inches long. Cut the antique brass-plated small oval link chain into one piece 3 inches long. Attach a 6mm open jump ring to each 3+1 chain and an 8mm open jump ring to the small oval link chain. Attach the Swarovski 8mm XILION mini pear pendant in Light Siam to the jump ring on the 2 1/2-inch chain, the Swarovski 10mm XILION mini pear pendant in Light Siam to the jump ring on the 2 3/4-inch chain and the Swarovski 20mm star pendant in Crystal AB to the 3-inch small oval link chain's jump ring. Connect all three chains to a single 6mm jump ring on their open ends and attach this jump ring to the 6mm jump ring from step two.
Step five: Thread the 2mm red satin cord through the 8mm jump ring from step two and around the 6mm jump ring from step two, then back through the 8mm jump ring. Tie your ends together in a knot, leaving approximately half an inch above. Cut the excess material.
