Charming Bangles Instructions Designed by Cynthia Kimura
This fun Mommy and Me project is full of detail and color and only takes minutes to make! You and your little one will have a blast making bracelets for each other that you'll both be proud to show off. Make a classy cuff for you and a fun dangling bracelet for your daughter or granddaughter.
Filigree Cuff
Step one: Paint the 1 1/4-inch aluminum rounded edge 20 gauge bangle cuff with brown acrylic paint and allow to dry. Cover it with African Bronze Gilders Paste so it covers the entire surface and allow to dry thoroughly. For help using Gilders Paste, visit the resources section of the Learning Center. Apply a sealant to protect the Gilderss Paste from wear.
Step two: Use nylon jaw pliers to bend the filigree so it curves with the surface of the bracelet. Use epoxy to glue your filigree to the center of your cuff. Glue five Swarovski SS16 Hotfix cabochon flatbacks in Pearl Bronze to each side of the filigree to stretch across the rest of the bracelet.
Step three: Use 5-minute two-part epoxy to glue one Swarovski 6mm round pearl in Peach to the center of the Kabela Design antique brass lacy dream filigree, and one 4mm Swarovski round pearl in Peach above and below your 6mm pearl to create a three-pearl pattern in the center of the filigree. Using a jewel setter, attach the Swarovski SS20 XILION rose flatbacks in Purple Velvet to each side of your pearl embellishment, setting each flatback next to the flower design on the filigree. Allow glue to dry.
Flower Cuff
Step one: Paint the 1/2-inch aluminum rounded edge 20 gauge bangle cuff with green acrylic paint and allow to dry. Apply Gilders Paste in Patina so it covers the entire surface. Allow to dry and then apply a sealant to protect the Gilders Paste from wear.
Step two: Cut the 4mm multi-colored fire polished silver-plated chain into two 1 3/4-inch long pieces using side cutters. Attach the ten TierraCast® silver antique oak leaf charms and the TierraCast® antique silver hummingbird charm to their own sterling silver open jump rings. For help with jump rings, visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center. Attach the hummingbird jump ring to the end of one of your chains. Connect the remaining leaf jump rings so there are five leaves on each chain, alternating between the colored beads.
Step three: Cut a flower shape out of bright green felt and glue the 22mm resin rose in transparent matte pink to its center using epoxy. Attach the antique silver-plated singing bird charm to the felt so it sits just to the right of your resin rose. Glue your felt flower to the center of the cuff bracelet and allow to dry.
Step four: Attach your silver chains to either side of the cuff so the chain with the hummingbird charm is on the same side as the singing bird charm. Allow glue to dry.
