Mardi Gras is all about the parties. This necklace keeps with the festive theme and is as much fun to make as it is to wear.
Step one: Cut three lengths of ZambaPro™ 49 .019 jewelry wire to approximately 24 inches. Put one end of each strand in a Bead Stopper® Each strand will have one size of beads, 4mm on one strand, 6mm on the next and 8mm on the final, however each strand with start with four 4mm beads each so they can fit in the cones. Mix the beads as you strand them so that you have a nice random color pattern as you go. Leave approximately 3 inches on each end with no beads.
Step two: After all the beads are strung, crimp the three strands together with one crimp tube. Trim two of the strands leaving one long strand to pull through the cone. Pull the string through the cone and add a 6mm druk bead, then string five more 4mm beads. Add a crimp tube, but do not crimp it yet. String a 4mm sterling stardust crimp bead. Run the wire through the loop of the clasp and back through the beads and crimp all the way back through the cone. Pull the wire tight and crimp the crimp tube. If you have excess wire, trim it at this point.
Step three: Add a charm by adding a link in the last segment of the necklace after the cone, attach an open jump ring to that and then to the charm. Wear this necklace with the clasp in the back, front or on the side to show your workmanship.
