Bubble TroubleJune 7, 2013
This is a very rare low rating that I give. The only reason I give it five hearts is in the finished Appearance of the few pieces that came out good. Even among those, I still have one or two tiny bubbles, thankfully at the very edge of the bezel. There was one or two that I have had to use a pin to "dig out" the bubble on the dry gloss, then filled it in, but to make it blend I had to add another layer of gloss. I went through two bottles, to get only a handful pieces. I have wasted and ruined far more than those that came out good. (I would have had lots more) So sorry to give it this low review. The price would have been worth it, except when I think of all the pieces that were ruined.

Beautiful ResultsAugust 25, 2012
This was my first experience using Magic-Glos. My first piece was a simple portrait in an antique brass oval frame. I poured the Magic-Glos on rather thick and let it settle. I had no trouble with bubbles. I added a second layer and was able to get a nice domed appearance. I used an ultra-violet light source for 15 minutes to dry the piece but left it for several hours to be sure it was dry. The result was a crystal clear image. I plan to use this Magic-Glos again and to be more creative with the materials I add to the Magic-Glos.

Love Magic GlosJune 7, 2012
This product was recommended to me by a friend that is a well known polymer artist.

She was right. This is an excellent finish. I used it on toner transfers on polymer. It came out perfect.

There is a learning curve when using this. Once you have worked with Magic Glos a few times, it gets easier.

I will continue to use this item.

I Love Magic-GlosMarch 4, 2012
The things you can do with Magic-Glos are limitless. If you use it in a bezel it dries hard & clear. It domes very nice too. Just make sure you cover your images with clear packing tape beforehand. That's what works best for me. It doesn't work with water based sealants. It's also great to use with open backed bezels. Just put tape on the back, pour in a little Magic-Glos & put it under a UV light. Then add whatever you want in or on it & repeat. Peal off the tape. It's better to do it in layers. No mixing resin- it's worth the price.

Watch Piece PendantsJanuary 17, 2012
I have been using Magic Glos for quite a few years. I use it on my polymer clay pieces and I also use in my Steampunk, watch parts pendants. It's a great resin that doesn't have to be measured and mixed. I put it in my UV lamp and it dries in 30 minutes instead of 24 hours.

Beautiful pendants & ornamentsNovember 7, 2011
Magic-glos is extremely easy to use. I do regular beading and jewelry making. Both I and a friend who doesn't bead, had no problems making wonderful pieces that could be used for jewelry or for ornaments. No mixing required and no noxious fumes and it cures very quickly under the UV light. It is clear and you can see your imbedded items clearly.

surprisingly easy!October 12, 2011
My sister just finished her first novel, Ivey and the Airship, and I decided to celebrate her achievement by making a special necklace for her, featuring her "work in progress" book jacket design in a pendant, along with other beads and charms to symbolize characters and elements in the book (which is a Steampunk fantasy story). I got the idea after seeing the Steampunk collection and designs others had made using Magic-Glos. Let me preface by saying, I am no jewelry maker, I just came to the site to buy a rubber cord to replace one that broke on a necklace I love. My husband thought I would never finish but was particularly intrigued by the Magic-Glos. I was a bit afraid that it would be hard to use and my result would be uneven and awful. But, it turned out to be as easy as advertised, and the result was fantastic! There are no real instructions with the product (a small insert would be a great addition), but there was a url provided and as soon as we discovered that the novelty blacklight we had wouldn't cure the glos, we just set the piece outside in the sunshine and it was done in moments. I put on several layers to get a "cabachon" effect. If a complete novice like me can get a good result with this product, anyone can! I did follow the guidance and put clear packing tape over my tiny photo before applying the gloss - a good precaution in the event the ink might adversely interact with the glos. I will be giving the necklace to my sister soon, and can't wait to see her reaction!

Magic Gloss is Pure MagicAugust 29, 2011
I truly enjoy working with Magic Gloss as it does not require mixing, therefore less waste. The curing is extremely fast in the sun (10 minutes) but then if you intend to work on resin at night or during a rainy day, you need a UV lamp to cure the resin. I have used this product will all sorts of decorative accents such as pictures, Swarovski crystals, miniature seashells, feathers, etc.
Pros: Magic Gloss is easier to use than most resin as it pours easily, is thick enough that it will not overflow quickly.
Cons: Be careful of bubbles, they can appear even after a few minutes of being poured. I use a heat gun. Even after passing the heat gun, some bubbles have reappeared and I had to drill a hole with my dremel tool and refill the hole. I was able to save a few pieces that way. The last drawback is that it is not compatible with water based glue such as white glue as some crystals may form in your resin after a few days.

So easy to useJanuary 19, 2011
I really love the Magic-Glos resin! It is so easy to use and it's pretty economical because a little goes a long, long way. It's thick enough that it stays in place and doesn't spill easily. It dries really hard and fast and does not yellow like some of the resins do. Just remember to let it sit at least 5 minutes for the bubbles to appear and then just pass a torch lighter above the surface to get rid of them. It really is like magic!

UV resinOctober 20, 2010
I LOVE this resin! It is so easy to use compared to regular resin products. Easy clean up and hardly any bubbles. I love being able to complete a necklace in one day and not have to wait for the resin to cure.

Magic GlosOctober 17, 2010
This is a wonderful, easy-to-use product that adds a nice clear coating to any jewelry piece. I found that bubbles in the product can be tenacious so don't shake it and if possible, store it upside down. If you gently and slowly squeeze out the first few drops, this will usually dispel trapped air. A toothpick works well to pop the bubbles and spread the product to the edges as it tends to dome in the center. My only complaint about Magic Glos is the cost. A tiny bottle for a high price. I haven't tried other products that promise similar results for less money (Modge Podge has a product--Dimension Magic???), but I suspect Magic Glos is unique for what it does. It doesn't appear to yellow over time as other resin products may do. Nor does it require the multiple steps involved in a two-part resin process or emit noxious fumes as those products do. Toxic fumes are a deal breaker for me, so I will stick with the Magic Glos.

Easy to use w side affectsOctober 4, 2010
I enjoyed using the product a lot, especially because of the fast curing time, the just right viscosity for my purpose,( I needed one that's not too thick or too thing) yet there are some concerns using it. It says it has no odor and is non-toxic, but I found it to have a clear detectable odor, and my eyes, throat hurts after about 10-20 mins of use. After repeat use my voice was getting hoarse. So please use caution when using the product. Glove, eye goggle, respiratos might still be needed for some.

Awesome product!September 14, 2010
This stuff is awesome! I used this to make pendants with pictures in them. Just apply scotch tape to both sides of your picture/paper to prevent them from getting wet. Apply in thin layers, letting each one set before applying the next. This product gives a very nice domed finish, does not discolor & cures rock-hard. Absolutely love it!!

Magic Gloss and trade 1 ozApril 29, 2010
This product is so fast and easy. Clean and no scents,

I did a few Swarovski card holders for gifts with magic gloss.

I used the UV Lamp I got at Artbead and it
is perfect for Magic Gloss projects too.

The Magic Gloss is really a one step product.
Can't get any easier.

Great productApril 17, 2010
This is so cool. I thought about getting Ice resin then I found this product and I am glad I did. This is so easy to use and gives very good result. Just open the bottle and pour over the image. I made 3 pendants today using this gloss. I let them dry in the sun and took about 1 hour to cure. My first piece has more bubbles than other 2 pieces. When I was making the third piece, I got better at it and figured out how to minimize the bubble. I poured the liquid in just one spot like in the middle until I get disired amount and used a pin to spread the liquid. This gives less bubbles than pouring the liquid here and there. I used little dried flowers I picked from my garden. All three pendants are so pretty. I already sold the first piece I made today.
