This chart is to help determine amount of beads when using
ALL 8 bobbins.
| Bead size: | Size 6/0 | Size 8/0 | Size 11/0 | Delica 8 | Delica 11 |
|---|
| Beads/inch: | 45 | 57 | 69 | 49 | 89 |
|---|
| Beads/gram: | 12/gram | 40/gram | 100/gram | 30/gram | 195/gram |
|---|
These equations will help you determine how many bags of beads you will need to purchase for your project.
Remember, all of our seed beads are sold in 8 gram bags.
Using Beads on All Eight Bobbins:
Gram Weight: Multiply the desired braid length by the Beads per Inch.
Divide your answer by Beads Per Gram to get the gram weight.
Divide the gram weight by 8 to see how many bags you will use, since we sell 8gram bags.
Example for making a 6-inch piece with size 6/0 beads:
6 (desired braid length in inches) X 45 (Beads per Inch for size 6/0 beads) =
270
270÷ 12 (Beads per Gram for size 6/0 beads) =
22.5
22.5÷ 8 =
2.8 , so you will need 3 bags of beads
Using Beads on Only Selected Bobbins
If using beads but not on all bobbins you have to first figure out the number of beads per bobbin. Here are the steps:
Beads per Inch divided by 8 bobbins = _____(Beads per Bobbin)
Beads per Bobbin multiplied by number of bobbins you want beads on = _____ (Beads per Inch)
Beads per Inch multiplied by desired braid length = ____ (number of beads needed)
Example for making a 6-inch piece with size 6/0 beads on four bobbins:
45 (Beads per Inch for size 6/0 beads)
÷ 8 =
5.625 (Beads per bobbin)
5.625 (Beads per Bobbin)
x 4 (number of bobbins with beads) =
22.5 (Beads per Inch)
22.5 (Beads per Inch)
x 6 (desired braid length) = 135 (number of beads needed)
135 (number of beads needed)
÷ 12 (Beads per Gram for size 6/0 beads) =
11.25 (Grams)
11.25 (grams) ÷ 8 =
1.4 , so you will need 2 bags of beads.
