Step one: Follow the techniques laid out in this Handy Tip for making a shamballa style bracelet. Instead of laying one strand of the Lovely Knots 1mm turquoise Chinese Knotting cord in the center of the folded strand, you will be working with two strands in the center. Make a square knot around the two center strands and then thread some TOHO 6/0 bead round hybrids in metallic copper penny onto the two strands. Thread more beads than you think you need, as they will snug up close to each other. We used 28 beads on one strand and 29 beads on the other. If you are having trouble threading the beads onto the cord, add a dab of adhesive to the ends of the cord to stiffen them.
Step two: Set up your next knot, but before tightening, slide a bead from the left center strand into place at the top of the knot. Then, tighten the knot. Set up the next knot and slide a bead from the right center strand into place. Tighten the knot. Continue this pattern until your bracelet is the desired length.
Step three: Cut a 24-inch length of cord to create the closure for the bracelet. See our Handy Tip to learn how to make a sliding macrame closure. Trim the ends of your cord, add a bead to each end and knot the ends. Secure the knots by using a thread burner. Your bracelet is complete!
