Congratulations to Anastasiya Klimanova!

Our Jewelry Design Star, Anastasiya Klimanova, is only 26 years old and yet has been practicing beadweaving for 15 years! She explained that most children in her native Russian city of Tomsk learn designing at an early age, but quickly lose enthusiasm for it as they get older. However, Anastasiya continued to learn more techniques from books, magazines and various websites, and admits she is still learning. She loves to experiment with different materials to produce different texture styles in her work, including lace, feathers, knitting and découpage. Seed beads are her primary choice, though. She does perform workshop demonstrations and oftentimes leaves it up to the participants as to what she teaches them! She has taught everything from basic stitches like peyote to rope styles like square and spiral. Although a geographer by trade, Anastasiya loves her hobby and sells her designs on her blog and online portfolio. Here's what Anastasiya had to say about her winning design:

"For many years I search materials for my idea of crazy collection that glow in UV. And when I saw new Swarovski neon pearl colors, [I was inspired]! The design was born immediately. And I think I made a perfect jewelry for [a] night club. Now it [has] gone to Moscow and [found a] new owner. I use different sizes of Swarovski pearls (neon orange, pink and yellow) and 9 colors of japanese, czech and chinese seed beads, some Fireline and memory wire."
