Congratulations to Cathy Altenburg!

Artbeads is proud to present our Jewelry Design Star, Cathy Altenburg! Cathy enjoys working with bronze clay because the results are always a surprise, and it allows for more creativity. She says she never knows what the patina color will look like after a piece has been fired and polished. Along with bronze clay, Cathy also likes using semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls in her designs. A sterling silver component puts the perfect finishing touch on her jewelry as well! Currently a full-time Physical Education Specialist in Nevada, Cathy is married with 2 children who keep her life very busy. "After looking at the neighbor’s poppy seed pods I wanted to create a PMCcreation from the pod. I made a mold of the seed and the design just went from there. Turquoise and sterling with dyed quartz set off the Fine Silver Poppy Seed medallion"
