Congratulations Kitty Hommer

Artbeads is proud to present the newest Jewelry Design Star, Kitty Hommer! This Army wife and Sunday School teacher started beading in 2006, when one of her favorite necklaces broke. She learned to design from books, magazines and the friendly gals at her local craft stores. After Kitty's military husband deployed, she started getting into beading more. It helped keep her mind off other things while her husband was away. Kitty enjoys using things from nature such as stones, pearls and shells, but also likes to find pieces at antique stores to use as focals and build designs around them. Here's what Kitty had to say about her winning design:

The Deployment Watch came about because I would wonder what time it was in Iraq and could never keep the time zones straight between here and there. It helped if knew it was dinner time there I could at least imagine that he was having dinner.
