Sara Corporan's journey to beading has been an exciting one! She was born in the Dominican Republic but was raised in New York City. After 20 years of being an educator's assistant in an elementary school, Sara decided she wanted to start her own business. She started watching beading videos and thought that jewelry making would be fun to do. She wanted to start her own brand. She's even been traveling to her home country of the Dominican Republic with other jewelry designers to learn more techniques and how to make her jewelry one of a kind.
Sara loves using semi-precious beads, polymer clay and resin clay in her designs to add to their uniqueness and help her pieces stand out. She also likes the delicacy of these media and feels they bring that delicate feeling to her overall designs. Sara views her jewelry as both a hobby and a job because she loves making jewelry but also finds it therapeutic.
She enjoys making jewelry in her home in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and being a stay-at-home mom to two wonderful kids, giving her more time to design. Her favorite design is actually her winning piece, Tropical Breeze! Sara says this is her favorite because it incorporates one-of-a-kind, handmade beads from artisans in the Dominican Republic made from exotic material like amber and coconuts.
