This special jump ring is small but possesses a mighty hold. Unlike a traditional jump ring, this one is designed to lock in place and never re-open. This type of jump ring is perfect for attaching to clasps to ensure that your designs stay in place and last a lifetime.
It may seem tricky to use, but just read our Handy Tip and you'll be amazed at how simple this cool finding is to work with. To make sure you don't weaken the metal, here are basic steps on how to close this jump ring appropriately.
With the open jump ring, use two chain nose pliers—one to hold the back side and another to steady the open front portion.
Use the pliers to gently squeeze the ends together, which will in turn slide one end of the ring into the small opening on the other end. The closed jump ring will look like the above image.
Once the ends are fitted together, slide the small tab on the outside of the ring across your newly-closed end. This should lock the ring in place.
