This special jump ring is small but possesses a mighty hold. Unlike a traditional jump ring, this one is designed to lock in place and never re-open. This type of jump ring is perfect for attaching to clasps to ensure that your designs stay in place and last a lifetime.
It may seem tricky to use, but just read our Handy Tip and you'll be amazed at how simple this cool finding is to work with. To make sure you don't weaken the metal, here are basic steps on how to close this jump ring appropriately.
Start off with the jump ring and lock tab open.
Use chain or flat nose pliers to gently squeeze one end of the ring into the small opening on the other end. This will close the jump ring. You may want to use one pair of pliers to hold the jump ring in the back while you squeeze the jump ring closed with another pair of pliers.
Once the jump ring is closed, slide the small tab of the lock on the outside of the ring across the newly closed end. This will lock the ring in place.
