Wood is the key element in jewelry this season! This is a fun way to wear your wood beads in a long or short necklace! Tie it any length you like to change the look.
Tip: We recommend using the full two yards of micro fiber suede to begin with. You will have some extra length when you are finished, which you can just tie in a bow and leave the ends dangling, or cut to suit your taste.
Step one: Begin by centering your 20mm round wood bead on the suede. Tie a simple knot on each side of the bead. For instructions on how to knot visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center.
Step two: Working out from the center bead, add beads evenly on both sides with a knot between each. Begin with a 12mm round, follow with an 8x12mm melon bead and continue alternating until you have three of each.
Step three: Measure the length you would like the necklace to be and add at least nine inches on each side to tie your bow. At the end of the suede, add a knot, string one more oval bead, and knot again. This necklace is a great one to do with kids, there is no use of tools or adhesive and it is great practice for little fingers to tie knots!
Approximate size: 33 inches untied, you can tie it as long or short as you like. Estimated time: Under 1 hour Difficulty level: Beginner
Tools Used: Large loop scissors if you choose to shorten the suede (TOOL-123)
