Follow these simple instructions to create a colorful friendship bracelet for your closest friend. The diagonal weave creates a beautiful design full of dynamic movement. With practice you can use these same steps to create necklaces, anklets and chokers that you'll adore!
Cut four strands 32-inches each. Tie the four strands together in a knot two inches from the end.
Tape the knotted end to your work surface or tie it to something such as the back of a chair or pin it to a knotting board.
Start with the far left strand (string A) and loop it over and then under string B. Bring it up through string A and B to make a knot.
Hold string B straight as you pull the knot taunt.
Repeat step two and three. This will form a left overhand knot.
Hold string B straight as you pull it tight.
Take string A and make a left overhand knot around string C.
Take string A and make a left overhand knot around string D. This will form a diagonal row of color across the strands.
Start with the far left strand (strand B) and repeat steps two-six to make left overhand knots across the strands to form a second diagonal row of color.
Repeat the steps to the desired bracelet length.
Gather all four strands together and make a knot to secure. Trim ends, and knot to prevent fraying if necessary.
