How to Create a Diagonal Weave

Up | Previous | Next
STEP ONE
Cut four strands 32-inches each. Tie the four strands together in a knot two inches from the end.
STEP TWO
Tape the knotted end to your work surface or tie it to something such as the back of a chair or pin it to a knotting board.
STEP THREE
Start with the far left strand (string A) and loop it over and then under string B. Bring it up through string A and B to make a knot.
STEP FOUR
Hold string B straight as you pull the knot taunt.
STEP FIVE
Repeat step two and three. This will form a left overhand knot.
STEP SIX
Hold string B straight as you pull it tight.
STEP SEVEN
Take string A and make a left overhand knot around string C.
STEP EIGHT
Take string A and make a left overhand knot around string D. This will form a diagonal row of color across the strands.
STEP NINE
Start with the far left strand (strand B) and repeat steps two-six to make left overhand knots across the strands to form a second diagonal row of color.
STEP TEN
Repeat the steps to the desired bracelet length.
STEP ELEVEN
Gather all four strands together and make a knot to secure. Trim ends, and knot to prevent fraying if necessary.
