| This stunning necklace, featured in the Fall 2007 issue of Stringing magazine, features lots of sterling silver links and showcases our Swarovski Avante Garde pendants. Make it for any special occasion, if you don't mind being the center of attention!
Step one: Link two of the round open jump rings to the center loops of your toggle clasp on each side. As you work, you may find it easier to work evenly on both sides of the design. It is symmetrical and doing so will help you keep perspective.
Step two: Working with oval open jump rings, link 21mm and 24mm hammered silver rings together, alternating until you have five rings total on each side. Add a 19.7 x 12mm oval link with holes then another 21mm hammered ring. At this point you will add a 15mm square link with holes. It is important that you attach the jump rings to a corner of the square link.
Step three: On the bottom two corners of each link, add another 21mm hammered ring. To complete the center strand, place a 23 x 13.7mm oval link with holes between the two hammered rings. At the bottom of that link, using a 9mm open jump ring, attach a 20mm crystal golden shadow Swarovski cosmic pendant.
Step four: Working from the two outside rings that are now dangling below this completed segment, link a 13.7 x 8.2mm hammered oval link, another 21mm ring, one more link then join both sides to the last 21mm hammered ring.
Step five: To attach the 40mm Swarovski cosmic pendant, you will need to make a custom bail. Cut a length of ZambaPro 49 .019 beading wire to approximately six inches. Put one end in a Bead Stopper. On the other end string a 2x2mm sterling silver crimp tube followed by a jet 4mm Swarovski bicone, the 40mm cosmic pendant, another 4mm jet bicone, a 6mm Swarovski vitrail medium bicone, jet bicone, a 4mm vitrail medium bicone, a jet, and one more 4mm vitrail medium. You will then complete the bail by running the other end of the wire through the crimp tube. Pull both ends very securely to make sure there are no gaps in the beads before crimping. Trim the excess wire and you are finished!
