Frosted Lane Bracelet Instructions Designed by Cynthia Kimura
The icy colors of the perfect Artbeads Designer Blend helps create the wintery look of a Frosted Lane in this brick stitch bracelet. Cynthia used the colors of the Blend to inspire her whole look, and paired the Swarovski bicones and pearls in the Blend with seed beads that match wonderfully. You can find more ideas for using Artbeads Designer Blends in your ideas with this Artbeads Cafe episode.
Step one: Cut approximately three feet of FireLine thread and attach to a beading needle. Make a ladder stitch for the first row in the bracelet using 10 Miyuki 8/0 round seed beads in silver-lined crystal AB
Step two: Create the second row using the decrease brick stitch and 9 pearls from the Swarovski 3mm Crystal Mix Icicle Designer Blend. Create the third row using the increase brick stitch and 10 crystal AB 8/0 seed beads.
Step three: Continue adding rows to the bracelet. We used crystal AB 8/0 beads, bicones and pearls from the Designer Blend, Miyuki 11/0 round seed beads in Duracoat galvanized silver, and TOHO 3mm bugle beads in frosted silver-lined crystal for our rows. Here is the order of rows we used (remember you've already added the first three rows), along with the number of beads and the stitch used in each row:
Step four: On the last row, weave the needle back through several rows to secure the thread. Sew the TierraCast antique silver-plated pewter Czech flower button onto the end of the bracelet. Loop around the button shank several times for a secure hold. Secure and trim the thread.
Step five: Add a new thread to the other end of the bracelet, so that it is coming out of the third seed bead in the last row. Add about 27 11/0 seed beads to your thread and bring your needle down through the third seed bead on the other end of the row. Check to make sure your loop fits the button and then go through the beads in the loop several times to strengthen. Weave your thread back into the beads in the bracelet to secure the thread and trim.
