Freya Bracelet Instructions Designed by Cheri Carlson
In Norse mythology, Freya was a goddess associated with love, beauty and gold, but she also had ties to the might and strength of war. This bracelet features beautiful gold, silver and copper jewelry wire in braided designs that are sturdy as well as stunning, just like Freya. When you make this bracelet, wire will become the highlight of your designs!
Step one: Cut six 10-inch pieces of the silver wire in the Soft Flex Trios Extreme pack. Thread a sterling silver 3x3mm crimp tube onto the ends of all six pieces of wire. Thread two of the wires through the outside loop of one half of the JBB sterling silver 3-strand round magnetic clasp with flowers and then thread them back through the crimp tube. Crimp in place and trim all of the ends. For help with crimping, please see our Handy Tip.
Step two: Separate the wires into three groups of two and braid these three groups together. Keep braiding for about six inches or more, depending on what size you want your bracelet to be. You can use a macrame board while braiding. Pinning the clasp to the board will help keep the braid in place.
Step three: Thread a crimp tube over the ends of the braided wires, thread two of the wires through the outside loop on the other half of the clasp and crimp in place as you did in step one. Trim the ends. Repeat steps one through three for the gold and copper wires.
