Show your support for this important cause with these shimmering breast cancer awareness caps. This simple-to-construct design enables you to be both fashionable while advocating the fight against breast cancer.
Step one: To create the visor, choose a word and select the location you intend to bejewel. To assess the proportions of the word "hope" we used a simple font from Microsoft Word, sized it to fit and printed it out as a reference pattern. Next, measure the height and width of the word and mark the center of the pattern with a pencil and the center of the visor with a pin. Use low tack masking tape to frame the area of your pattern and create a window on the visor that will serve as a guideline for the height and width of the word.
Step two: Position the crystal Swarovski H2028 SS20 Hotfix XILION rose flatbacks on your paper pattern until you are happy with the arrangement. Place a barrier behind the area that you are bejeweling. Since these items cannot be laid flat, we rolled up a small towel and held it behind the area as we bejeweled to keep the area smooth and prevent the heat from going through. Next, transfer one letter at a time to the visor and bejewel. For help bejeweling, refer to the How to Use the Bejewler® Stone Styler™ instructions located in the handy tips section of the learning center. We affixed the first and last letters first and then filled in the remaining letters.
Step three: To create the hat, arrange the rose Swarovski H2028 ss30 hotfix XILION rose flatbacks into a ribbon shape on a piece of paper and carefully trace around them to create your pattern. Punch holes into the pattern at the following places: top-center, point where the ribbon intersects, and at each end of the ribbon. Use a quilting pen to mark these points of reference onto the fabric. Hold a towel behind the fabric and bejewel a flatback crystal onto each of these points. Fill in the pattern with the remaining flatback crystals.
