Create this necklace as part of a mother daughter bonding day, and your daughter will have a wonderful keepsake of the great time you two had together. She'll love the bright colors and romantic elements in this design.
Step One: Cut a section of the graphic florals transfer sheet to fit into the base of the antique gold-plated pewter heart picture pendant. Follow the instructions on the packaging to transfer the image into the base of the pendant. Following the instructions on the bottle, pour the Gel du Soleil into the pendant until it is filled. Allow to cure under a UV lamp for at least 15 minutes. Attach a sterling silver open jump ring to the heart pendant. For help with jump rings visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center.
Step Two: Cut an approximately 23-inch piece of ZambaPro 49 .019 jewelry wire. Crimp one end of the wire to the heart section of the TierraCast antique gold sacred heart toggle clasp using a 2x2mm 14K/20 gold-filled crimp tube. Depending on the age of the child, you may need to help them with the jump rings and crimp tubes. Our kids find it easier to flatten the crimp tubes rather than use the bead crimping tool. For help with crimp tubes visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center.
Step Three: On the wire, string an approximately three-inch section of 11/0 TOHO triangle beads in silver-lined pink, an approximately three-inch section of 8/0 TOHO hex beads in wisteria-lined crystal and an approximately four-inch section of 4mm druk beads in hyacinth ab. Add the heart pendant from step one. Mirror the pattern to create the other half of the necklace. Crimp the end of the wire to the bar end of the clasp using a crimp tube.
