Fit for a Queen Instructions Designed by Cheri Carlson
If you are looking for a stunning and special gift for your mom, friend or daughter, make her feel like a queen with these Swarovski rhinestone encrusted make-up brushes! We found our brushes and container at the local dollar store.
The layout for our make-up brushes was done in a random fashion. The brushes you choose may not be the same size, requiring more or less Swarovski flatback rhinestones than what was used on ours. The metal band that we covered on the powder brush measures 2¾ inches around and 15/16 of an inch wide. The band on the eyelash brush tapers and steps in and out Use the colors and sizes of rhinestones as a guide rather than a pattern. The key to getting good coverage is to use a variety of rhinestone sizes. We used a Jewel Setter to pick up and place the rhinestones. For help using Swarovski flatback rhinestones please visit the Handy Tips section in the Learning Center.
Powder Brush: Step one: Draw a vine on the makeup brush with a highlighter or felt-tip marker. Use Gem-tac permanent adhesive to attach the peridot rhinestones along the vine. We did this in sections around the brush to allow the rhinestones to lay flat while the adhesive sets up some before turning the brush.
Step two: Place the larger padparadscha and small jonquil AB as flowers on the vine. Again, attaching them in sections to allow the adhesive to set up before turning the brush.
Step three: Fill in the background with the white opal rhinestones. Mix up the sizes to get the best coverage.
Eye Lash Brush: Step one: Use Gem-tac to attach the rhinestones in rows around the brush. We started with a row of rose AB rhinestones, an alternating row of padparadscha and peridot AB, another row of rose AB, row of white opal, row of rose AB, row of padparadscha, row of rose AB and a row of white opal.
Step two: Place a peridot AB on each side of the brush and place small padparadscha to surround them. Place rose AB in a row to fill in-between these two flowers.
Brush Holder: Step one: Use E6000 adhesive to attach the Czech glass medium leaf matte gray ab, Czech glass medium leaf matte olive ab and the Czech glass medium leaf topaz ab on the brush holder. Arrange them so that they will prop up the Czech glass large fuchsia/white bell flower, but don't place the flower yet. Allow the adhesive to set up some on the leaves.
Step two: Use E6000 to attach the large flower and the Czech glass orange fuchsia/green bell flower and the Czech glass cranberry small bellflower. Allow them to set up.
Step three: Use Gem-tac to attach an ss20 jonquil ab and two ss12 jonquil ab rhinestones for the centers of the flowers and peridot abs around the leaves and flowers.
