These fancy crimp end caps make an elegant finish for thicker stringing materials. They are best suited for satin cord and 2mm rubber cord. They are too big for jewelry wire and will not work with suede. These end caps work differently from other crimp ends and this Handy Tip will show you how to add these components to your designs.
When adding one of these crimp end caps to satin, it is helpful to add an adhesive to ensure the end cap stays secure. We used superglue gel (SPRGLUE).
Next, slide on your fancy crimp end cap. When crimped, the little notch on the back of the decorative surface of the end cap will be pushed down so that the crimp tube is pushed down with it, clamping down on the stringing material.
Use pliers to squeeze the crimp end cap shut. We covered the tips of our pliers with tape so that they would not leave marks on the surface of the end cap.
Your fancy crimp end cap is now securely attached to the end of your stringing material! Repeat these steps on the other end of your stringing material for a professional and polished finishing touch for your designs.
