Ever feel like you have put all you have into love? This necklace is the perfect reflection of that sentiment. It includes micro-fiber suede, sterling silver, Swarovski crystal and a beautiful handmade lampwork bead. With a bit of technique you can wear or give a gift of love that says you really would give everything.
Step one: Cut two lengths of micro-fiber suede to approximately eight inches. Fold a half inch of the end of the suede through a sterling silver oval jump ring and wrap it tightly with wire. See How to Finish Fibers with Wire Wraps in the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center for more information. Slide a sterling silver 10mm capped round bead onto the other end of the suede. Fold one half inch of that end of the suede through another jump ring and repeat the wire wrapping procedure. Repeat the entire process with the other piece of suede. On the ends that do not have the bead, attach your toggle clasp to the jump rings.
Step two: Cut five lengths of sterling silver chain to approximately 3 inches each. Attach one end of each to a sterling silver oval open jump ring. String them all through the loop of a dichroic heart lampwork pendant and attach the other ends to another sterling silver open jump ring.
Step four: Link four of the links together and attach them to one side of the suede. Link the remaining three links and measure against the first four. Measure out a length of chain that, when attached to the links will equal the length of the opposite segment. Cut the chain and attach it to the other piece of suede. Connect the links to the chain. The bottommost link on both sides will attach to the jump rings at the ends of the center chain/pendant component to complete the necklace.
