Embellishing chains to decorate handbags, beach bags, backpacks and laptop bags is a hot trend. We went one step further and added a watch face to the end of the chain to keep you on schedule. We hung this one facing the right way for appearance. However for quick reference, hang it upside down so you can grab it and check the time in a glance. We made this for Maggie's honeymoon, but you can choose any charms you like that represent you, just as you would for a charm bracelet.
Step one: Make the chain the length you desire. This chain is made of open rings, so there is no need to cut it, just separate the rings at the desired length. Attach the clasp using a sterling silver open jump ring. Add all of the charms in random places as you work down the chain. Save your favorite charm to the side.
Step two: Using a sterling silver split ring, add the watch face to the bottom link of the chain. With an open jump ring add the final charm to the bottom of the watch face and you are done. If your bag does not have a zipper or ring to attach the clasp to, just wrap it around the strap and hook it to itself.
