These colorful napkin rings are perfect for Easter dinner. Mix up the colors and make as many as you like! We have listed the components for the two featured here, but be sure to visit the Silk Ribbon page of the site for additional ribbon colors and the Easter Charms page for more charm options!
Step one: Cut a loop of memory wire using memory wire shears. Make sure the loop overlaps by at least an inch to accommodate the loops. Create simple loops in the end of the memory wire by turning your pliers away from the natural curve of the wire. Leave one end slightly open. Cut two different colors of craft wire for each napkin ring. You will need them to be about 16 inches long. Set them aside.
Step two: On the end that is completely closed, tie the ribbon in a knot through the loop. Wrap it tightly around the wire, and work your way all the way around the ring. Wrap it back and forth until you have used all but an inch or so of the ribbon. Hold the ribbon in place with your fingers and use one of the colored wires to wrap the end to the memory wire. Make several messy but tight loops around the end until the ribbon is held firmly in place. Then loop it in wider loops to the other end of the ring and repeat the tight loops to balance the look. When you reach the end of the wire, just press it firmly into the ribbon using your chain nose pliers. Go over the ring with the second colored wire.
Step three: Attach a charm to the closed end of the memory wire. When you are finished, you can hook the loops together. Repeat for as many napkin rings as you would like.
Tip: Use any gauge wire you like. The heavier gauges are a bit harder to wrap, but will give you more color impact. We used the Spring mix pack of wire and the 18 gauge peacock blue artistic wire, but be creative with your colors and mix in anything you like! The mix packs give you an array of gauges and colors to play with at a reasonable price.
