Snap fasteners look great on clothing and jewelry and they are so easy to use. It's even easier to learn how to attach them to your designs!
You will need to use the snap fastener die set (TOOL-0047) with the crystal applicator. There are two parts to this die set, for a total of four pieces. You can only use one part of this die set at a time on the crystal applicator. The first part is for the back, or the snapping part of the snap fastener. It should come in a bag labeled SN001B. It's easy to remember that the B stands for the back of the snap fastener.
The second part of the die set is for the fastener, or the decorative side of the snap fastener. It comes in a bag labeled SN001F. We can use our memory trick here, as well: the F stands for the front or the fastener of the snap fastener.
Start off by attaching the first part of the die set, the pieces for the bottom of the snap fastener, to the crystal applicator. The component with the screw is always placed into the upper die holder and the screw can be turned to ensure the upper component stays in place. Adjust the small screw on the lower die holder to ensure the lower die also stays in place.
Adjust the stroke adjustment screw to allow the upper die to meet up with the lower die when the tool is squeezed.
Place the snapping part of the snap fastener into the upper die. It should click into place.
Place the plain pronged piece for the snap into the lower die.
Adjust your design in the middle of the dies so that the snap will be placed where you want it. Make sure you are attaching the snap on the right side of the fabric. Squeeze the handle to attach the snap. Half of your snap fastener has been attached.
Now it's time to add the decorative side of the fastener. Attach the second part of the die set to the crystal applicator as you did in step three. Once again, the component with the screw will be placed into the upper die holder.
Place the back side of the decorative part of the fastener into the upper die. It should click into place.
Place the decorative side of the fastener into the lower die face down and repeat step seven.
