Norma Jean Instructions Designed by Cynthia Kimura
Marilyn Monroe had humble beginnings as a young girl named Norma Jean. Then, she transformed her image by dying her hair platinum blonde and glamming up her wardrobe and became a bombshell. Just like Norma Jean, with the crystal applicator tool, you can transform your style to be as glitzy and eye-catching as you want! These jeans and bracelets are the perfect way to get started. Each project is easy to customize to suit your own style.
Jeans
Step one: Start off by planning where you want to place your decorative buttons and rose pins. You can use as many as you want in whatever pattern. We decided to spice up a back pocket.
Step two: Use the crystal applicator handheld tool and the snap die set to apply the Swarovski 11mm silver-plated multi-stone decorative button in transparent/Crystal to the top center of the back pocket. For more information on how to apply a decorative button to your designs, see our Handy Tip.
Step three: Use the crystal applicator tool and the rose pin die set to apply two Swarovski SS20 rose pins in Crystal AB on each side of the decorative button and slightly above it. See our Handy Tip to find out how to apply rose pins to your designs.
Wide Bracelet
Step one: Use a piece of wide ribbon and a piece of thin ribbon for your bracelet. We chose a solid brown ribbon for our wider piece and a thin, green ribbon with decorative white swirls for the center of the bracelet. Measure each ribbon approximately 11 inches long and cut.
Step two: Glue the thin ribbon in the center of the wide ribbon. Fold the edges of the two glued ribbons over about one inch and glue the folded edges down to give your bracelet clean, finished edges.
Step three: Use the crystal applicator tool and the snap die set to attach two Swarovski 11mm silver-plated flatback snap fasteners in Crystal AB to the ends of the bracelet, on the folded edges. The front of the fasteners will both go on one side of the bracelet and the snap part with the stud will be on the other side. Make sure you attach them facing the right way. Both the flatback fasteners and the studs should be facing up on the front of the bracelet, where you can't see the edges folded over.
Step four: Attach three Swarovski SS34 rose pins in Crystal on either side of the thin ribbon, spaced out evenly.
Narrow Bracelet
Step one: Pick out a ribbon for your bracelet. We used a velvety black piece. Cut the ribbon about ten inches long and fold the edges over about half an inch and glue the edges down.
Step two: Glue the two 10x14mm resin bluebell cameo white and black cabochons and the 10x14mm resin rose cameo white and black cabochon onto the front of your bracelet. They should be evenly spaced out and the rose cameo cabochon should be in the center.
Step three: Attach the Swarovski 11mm silver-plated multi-stone snap fastener in transparent/Crystal to both ends of the bracelet, on the folded edges. Both the decorative fastener and the stud should be facing up on the front of the bracelet.
Step four: Attach the Swarovski SS20 rose pins in Crystal AB in clustered patterns of four between the snap fastener parts and the cabochons. There should be four clusters of rose pins spaced out evenly on your bracelet when you are finished.
