Break away from ideas of classic beauty and shake things up with this fun yet sophisticated idea. Taking influences from the unique melodies of a joyful jazz tune, our necklace brings the class and all of the sass to fashion!
Step one:
Create the central filigree focal by connecting the links together using a 0.75x4.60mm sterling silver open jump ring. Watch our Handy Tip video here to learn how to open and close a jump ring if you need help. Below we have labeled each link and will refer to them as such for the remainder of the instructions:
A = Swarovski 38mm silver-plated filigree round in Jet
B = Swarovski silver-plated fancy flower filigree in Black Ice
C = Swarovski silver-plated impatiens filigree in Jet (since there are two, we will say C-1 and C-2)
D = Swarovski silver-plated snowflake filigree in Eye of the Storm (since there are two, we will say D-1 and D-2)
Use the image above to determine how to connect the filigrees together.
Step two:
Cut one 10-inch long strand of gunmetal-plated 3+1 medium round oval link chain. Connect one end of the chain to the top left of D-1 using one jump ring.
Step three:
Cut one strand of jewelry wire approximately 14 inches long. Connect one end to a jump ring using one sterling silver 2x2mm crimp tube. Cover with one 4mm sterling silver crimp cover. Read our Handy Tips on how to use a crimp tube and how to use a crimp cover if you need help. Attach this jump ring to the direct left of D-1.
Step four:
String the following pattern onto the wire:
three Swarovski 6mm faceted rounds in Dark Indigo
one TierraCast rhodium-plated pewter small cube spacer EuroBead
one Swarovski 6mm round pearl in Cream
one Swarovski 11mm pear-shaped pearl in Bronze
one Cream pearl
one cube spacer
Repeat four times. Add three Dark Indigo rounds, one cube spacer and then two more Dark Indigo rounds. Use a crimp tube to attach the end of the wire to a jump ring. Trim the excess wire. Cover the crimp tube with a crimp cover.
Step five:
Add a jump ring to the open chain end. Attach both this jump ring and the jump ring from the step above to the loop portion of the sterling silver art deco toggle clasp.
Step six:
Repeat steps two through five on the right side of the focal, substituting D-2 for D-1 and the bar portion of the clasp for the loop portion.
