Claudia Bracelet Instructions Designed by Cynthia Kimura
Artbeads Designer Seed Bead Blends and Artbeads Swarovski Designer Blends are fun to mix together in beautiful designs. Cynthia created this amazing peyote stitch bracelet with the Far Far Away Designer Seed Bead Blend and the Lavender Fields Swarovski Designer Blend. The Blends work together perfectly to create a stunning display of style!
Step one: Stitch up two peyote strips, each six beads wide, using the Far Far Away 8/0 Designer Seed Bead Blend. Make them long enough to fit your wrist, keeping in mind that the button closure adds about an inch of length to the bracelet. For help with creating even-count peyote stitch, please see our Mini Tutorial and this helpful PDF diagram.
Step two: Stitch up and exit out of the last bead on an edge of one of the peyote strips and a string a bicone from the Swarovski 4mm Bicone Lavender Fields Designer Blend, followed by a seed bead from the Far Far Away 11/0 Designer Seed Bead Blend. Skip the 11/0 seed bead added and pass back through the bicone and the edge bead.
Step three: Go up through the next edge bead and string three 11/0 seed beads . Go down through the next edge bead.
Step four: Go up through the next edge bead and repeat steps 2 and 3 for the full length of the strip. Repeat on the second peyote strip.
Step five: Lay the peyote strips side by side, with the plain edges facing each other. Stitch up and exit out of the first bead on the plain edge of one of the peyote strips and string an 11/0 seed bead, a bicone and another 11/0 seed bead. Take the needle through the corresponding bead on the second peyote strip and go down through the next edge bead on peyote strip #2, then up through the bead after that and down through the next bead.
Step six: Repeat steps 6 and 7 back and forth along the length of the bracelet to attach the two peyote strips together. Pass through the beads connecting the peyote strips once more to tighten and secure the connection.
Step seven: To attach the button clasps, weave the thread (or start a new thread) through the beads to position the thread at the center of the fifth row of one peyote strip and tack down the shank of the TierraCast antique silver-plated pewter round tree of life button by weaving directly underneath the shank 4-6 times. Tie a knot underneath the button and weave the thread through a few beads to hide the knot and thread.
Weave the thread through the connecting beads into the other peyote strip and repeat step 7 on the second peyote strip to add another button. Trim any excess thread.
Step nine: To add the loops, start a new thread near the other end of the bracelet and weave it down to the end, exiting toward the outer edge of the bracelet through the first bead in the last row. String 21 8/0 beads onto the thread and pass through the second bead in the last row. Make sure the button fits through the loop easily before continuing, then pass through the entire loop three more times, making sure the thread is tight and secure. Tie a knot at the end of the row and weave the thread through a few beads to hide the knot and thread.
Step ten: Weave the thread through the connecting beads into the other peyote strip and repeat step nine on the end of the second strip. Tie a knot and weave the thread through a few beads to hide the knot and thread. Trim any excess thread.
