Christmas Sparkle Necklace

With a very simple wire working technique you can create a fun, eye-catching Christmas Tree pendant or ornament. String the necklace on the chain or silk to wear as a necklace, or just tie the silk in a bow, or use a small piece of ribbon to hang it as an ornament for your tree. The dichroic glass is incredibly reflective and beautiful in the light. Step one: On the bottom of the tree pendant, attach the sterling silver open jump ring SS-OJR35-G. On a two inch head pin string a 6mm Swarovski crystal cube in light Siam AB (or a color of your choosing) then a 4mm faceted round in fire opal, and top that with a silver antique pewter bow bead. Finish with a simple loop which you will attach to the jump ring at the bottom of the tree. For instructions on how to make a simple loop, please visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center. Step two: Add a 6mm Swarovski faceted round in light topaz and two separate 4mm faceted round fire opals to individual one inch head pins and finish each with a simple loop. Attach all three dangles to an open jump ring (SS-OJR30-F). At the top of the tree add an open jump ring (SS-OJR50-A). On the front of the pendant, link the jump ring containing the dangles to the jump ring that holds the top of the pendant. Step three: Cut a length of chain to approximately one inch. Add that chain to the top jump ring as well. Put a 20mm Swarovski star pendant in crystal AB on an open jump ring (SS-OJR35-E) and attach it to the top of the chain link. On that chain Add another jump ring (SS-OJR35-G). Step four: Cut two lengths of chain to approximately seven inches each. Attach one end of each chain to the topmost jump ring of the design. At the end of each length of chain, add a final jump ring (SS-OJR30-F) and attach the clasp. Alternate finish: Instead of adding the chain and clasp, simply string a silk ribbon or cord through the top jump ring.
