Christmas Chair Cover Instructions Designed by Artbeads
Make your table truly formal with these beaded chair covers. They are simple to make, and sure to set your party apart!
Step one: Cut four lengths of Acculon Tigertail .018 to approximately 22 inches. Attach one end of each wire to a 21mm hammered silver ring using 2x2mm sterling silver crimp tubes. For detailed instructions on how to crimp, please visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center. Work on one strand at a time, and string your beads in a random pattern. When you have about 17 or 18 inches strung, attach the end to another hammered ring. You will attach two of the strands to each of the remaining rings, vary the length a slight amount so that when they hang, you will clearly see each strand.
Step two: Cut another length of jewelry wire to approximately seven inches. Attach one end to the center of the middle ring, in the middle of the four strands. String an 8mm crystal AB druk, followed by a 3mm fire polished ruby bead, a 3mm fire polished emerald and another 3mm ruby. Repeat this pattern four more times. Add a 2x2mm crimp tube. Do not crimp it yet. String seven transparent silver lined semi-matte ruby red Delicas, add a Swarovski crystal AB snowflake pendant, and add seven more Delicas. Slide the remaining wire through the crimp tube and crimp it. Trim the excess wire.
Step three: At this point we recommend attaching the rings to your chair cover. We found our covers at a local department store. Use a simple stitch to sew the rings lightly to the cover. You may want to remove them later to wash the cover, so do not overdo the stitching. Attach the center ring to the top center of the chair, and the other rings about 13 inches down each side, depending on the width of your chair.
Step four: Once the bead strands are attached, you will add the ribbon. Hold both ribbons in the center and pull the center through the center ring about one inch. Wrapping it around the ring, hold the loop you have created open and slip all four ends of the ribbon through that loop. Pull tight. Separate the ribbon so that you have one of each color on each side. Follow the drape of the beads and tie loosely to the side rings. Let the ends dangle
