You can capture the songbird, but not the song, so you will have to express yourself with this fun and fabulous pendant instead. Get a professional look with a few easy techniques. All you need to make this piece is patience. For help using Ice Resin please visit the Handy Tips section in the Learning Center. Step one: Cut a piece of decorative paper to fit the antique copper-plated pewter elongated heart picture pendant. Coat both sides and the edges of the paper with Mod Podge or other sealer. Allow it to dry. Recoat and allow it to dry. Step two: Put a coat of Mod Podge on the inside of the pendant. Place the paper cut-out into the pendant and gently press and smooth to remove any air bubbles. Put another coat of Mod Podge on the cut-out and around the inside edges to seal. Allow it to dry. Step three: Cut a 3-inch piece of 22 gauge olive matte artistic wire. Center a Czech glass turquoise with Picasso leaf on the wire and twist the wires together. Repeat for the second leaf and then twist the two leaves together. Trim the wire if necessary and shape the branch to fit the inside of the pendant. Step four: Mix the Ice Resin and pour it into the pendant not quite to the top edge. Allow it to dry. Step five: Mix another batch of Ice Resin and slowly pour a thin layer to a slight mound. If you overfill the pendant the excess will flow over the crease of the heart. Allow to dry for approximately 4 hours. The resin will be partially set but it will still have some give. Use side cutters to snip the bail off of the antique brass singing bird charm. Gently press the charm into place so that it makes good contact with the resin. Allow to dry. Step six: Attach the 8mm antique copper-plated open jump ring to the heart pendant. Step seven: Use a 6mm antique copper-plated open jump ring to connect one end of the antique copper-plated medium rollo chain to the bar end of the 12mm antique copper-plated curled toggle clasp. Slide the pendant onto the chain and then use the other jump ring to connect the chain to the loop end of the clasp.
