Butterfly, Flower and Horse Gift Tins Instructions
We have three different ideas to get you started for this Mommy and Me project using our favorite tin boxes! Do you need a pretty place to keep small things together? This is just the thing. These whimsical boxes are as fun to make as they are to look at. The clear top tin containers make it easy to see what's inside. This makes them perfect for storing small things. You can also choose a solid top for those secret treasures and added embellishment opportunities.
Step one: Let your child choose the papers and decorations and you can help with the adhesives. Lay out the papers, stickers, crystals and charms in a way that pleases your eye. For the paper and fibers we recommend taking advantage of the easy application that comes with Terrifically Tacky Tape. When you are adding beading components or brads, you will want the added security of E6000 adhesive.
Step two: To add the sculptural art of the butterflies, simply cut wire to a length that you like and sandwich it between two layers of Tacky Tape, one will stick to the tin and one to the paper. Do the same at the top with the butterflies and a decorative backing. Now that you have these simple techniques, the only limit to what you and your child can do is your imagination.
