Bright Future Picture Frame

This fun picture frame was made for the graduate heading out into the world, but it would make an equally fun baby or wedding shower gift, teacher's gift or birthday present. It is a fairly simple project with a whole lot of "wow factor"! Step one: For the straight edges of the frame we used 1/4-inch Tacky Tape. Choose the appropriate width of tape to suit your project. Place the tape on the frame and peel off the backing. Sprinkle the round 15/0 silver-lined teal Toho beads onto the surface and press firmly to secure them. Repeat the sprinkle and press process until you are happy with the coverage. Step two: For the vines and stems on our frame we used Gem-Tac adhesive. Apply the adhesive with a small paint brush or cotton swab. Apply the adhesive to a small section, sprinkle with a mix of round 15/0 silver-lined medium gold Toho beads and the 15/0 silver-lined teal Toho beads. Press gently to secure. Work your way around the frame to complete. Repeat the process to fill in any areas that are sparse. Allow to dry. Step three: Cut the petals of one of the yellow and one of the soft teal felt flowers into circles. Use these circles as the centers for the flowers. Step four: Mix and match the orange round 4mm cat's eye beads, the round 11/0 silver-lined medium orange Toho beads and the round 6/0 silver-lined teal 8g bag Toho bead for the centers of the flowers. With the needle and orange Silamide thread stitch the felt centers and beads to the felt flowers. Step five: For best adhesion, apply some Gem-Tac adhesive to the backs of the flowers and allow to dry. Do not place them on the frame yet, the felt will absorb alot of the adhesive. Add another coat of adhesive to the flowers and then place them on the frame. Approximate cost: Under $30.00 Estimated time: Two hours, not including drying time.
