| More and more people are making their own wedding invitations. Invitations are less formal now, so give them a personal touch by creating yours at home. This idea is for inspiration based on a beach wedding. You can tie your own colors and themes in and use them for wedding or bridal shower invitations, even thank you cards!
Step one: We purchased card stock at a local craft store, but you can make your own cards out of the paper of your choice. Choose a pattern; in our case, we went with a simple starfish. Use stencils, pictures from magazines or books, even stamps to create your pattern, then apply Swarovski flatback rhinestones in colors of your choice. To apply the flatbacks, use a Jewel Setter to pick up the rhinestones, dab them lightly in Gem Tac glue and press firmly onto the paper.
Step two: Attach two sterling silver open jump rings to a charm of your choice. Tie a strand of silk ribbon into the seam of the card. As you tie the bow, thread the charm onto the silk so that it is tied securely in the center of the bow.
Step three: Add the text to your card, and you are ready to go.
