Bridal Veil

All brides focus on their dress, but it is the back of the bride and groom that most people see during the ceremony. Make your veil sparkle so that even with your back turned, you will look elegant and beautiful. We bought a pre-made veil that came attached to a comb. You can do this design with any veil. Step one: Using Supplemax or white thread to match the veil, sew 8mm Swarovski 5301 faceted bicones in crystal AB alternating with 8mm sterling silver satin beads with crystal rhinestones to the top of the veil where the comb is. Step two: In a random pattern "sprinkle" Swarovski 2028 flatback rhinestones in crystal AB around your veil. We used sizes ss34 and ss20. There are two ways to affix the stones. One is demonstrated in out Handy Tips section of the Learning Center. You can use the beeswax method shown or a Jewel Setter to place the stones. When working with a fabric like tulle, you will want to place a piece of cardboard behind the fabric to prevent the layers from sticking. Another method is to use a flatback on both sides of the fabric. This increases the expense a bit, but is a much neater application method and you will never see the foiled back of the rhinestones. To do this, simply apply a small amount of adhesive to the back of one of the rhinestones, apply to the fabric and place a matching stone directly behind it, then press the two firmly together for several seconds. For a variation, mix your wedding colors in for an extra splash of color, or create a pattern with the rhinestones, the possibilities are endless.
