Branching Out Necklace

Brighten the dark days of autumn with this silver and copper necklace. The shimmer of the silver branches and copper leaves contrasts the dull copper and brown ribbon for a dramatic effect. Step one: Attach an 8mm antique copper-plated open jump ring to the bar end of the antique copper-plated round triangle toggle clasp. Use the jump ring to connect to 24-inches of antique copper-plated oval link chain. Add a jump ring the other end of the chain, and connect it to the loop end of the clasp. Step two: Add another jump ring to the jump ring at the toggle bar. Thread a 4x4mm sterling silver crimp tube onto one end of the brown with orange hand-dyed silk ribbon. Thread the end of the ribbon through the jump ring and then back through the crimp tube. Flatten the crimp tube with pliers to secure the ribbon. Trim any excess tail. Step three: Add another jump ring to the jump ring at the toggle loop. Weave the ribbon through the chain. Thread a crimp tube onto the end of the ribbon. Thread the ribbon through the jump ring and then back though the crimp tube. Adjust the length of the ribbon to match the length of the chain. Flatten the crimp tube with pliers to secure the ribbon. Step four: Connect a jump ring to each of the following charms and pendants: the silver-plated pewter branch charm, the red bronze crinkled leaf pendant, the red bronze outlined leaf pendant and the steel cracked rectangle pendant. Center the steel pendent on the necklace and then space the others every four links from the center.
