Artemis Bracelets Instructions Designed by Teri McCamish
We love the look of leather and gemstones. These fun bracelets create a braided look around gemstone beads for an earthy, elemental vibe you'll love adding to everyday wear. Choose a strand of Dakota Stones gemstone large-hole beads and your favorite round leather cord and you're on your way making fabulous bracelets for every occasion!
Step one: Cut three lengths of 2mm natural black round leather approximately 12 inches long each. Knot them all together at one end. Start braiding them together using a traditional braiding technique.
Step two: Once you have about an inch of braided leather, add a Dakota Stones lapis lazuli 8mm large-hole round bead to the center cord. Continue the braid so that two cords wrap around the bead. Then, add another lapis bead to the center cord. Repeat until you have 15 beads in your braid.
Step three: Braid normally, as you did in step one, to create an inch of braid with no beads. Knot and trim the ends of the cord.
Step four: Add the 6.1mm gold-plated pewter plain Glu-N-Go lobster clasp set to each end of the bracelet using adhesive and allow to dry. If the clasps feel a little loose around the leather, you can tuck some extra pieces of leather in the cap to fill any gaps.
Step five: Repeat steps one through four to create the other bracelet with 2mm brown leather, Dakota Stones labradorite 8mm large-hole round beads and the 6mm gunmetal-plated pewter ridged Glu-N-Go lobster clasp set. On this bracelet, you will add one plain braided section between each bead to space them out more.
