Botticellis Venus Necklace Instructions Designed by Cynthia Kimura
Venus, the goddess of love, is said to have come from foam on the sea. This richly detailed necklace captures that imagery with oceanic lampwork beads and an exquisite, hand-painted replica of Sandro Botticelli's Venus.
Step one: String the following onto a 3-inch head pin: a Swarovski 6mm briolette bead in Caribbean Blue Opal AB, a rectangle black onyx Birth of Venus by Botticelli pendant and a briolette bead. Finish the head pin with a wrapped loop.
Step two: Remove links as necessary to make both ends of the antique brass-plated large squares and ovals chain appear the same.
Step three: Cut an 8-inch piece of ZambaPro™ 49 .019 jewelry wire. Attach the wire to the first link on the chain using a 14K/20 gold-filled 2x2mm crimp tube. For help with crimping, visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center. Cover the crimp tube with a 3mm gold-filled crimp cover.
Step three: String the following components onto the wire in the order listed: an ocean sunset mix pillow bead, a 4.5mm shiny saucer bead, a Swarovski 5mm XILION bicone in Topaz, a Swarovski 4mm faceted round in Smoked Topaz AB, a bicone, a saucer bead, a pillow bead, a saucer bead, a bicone, a faceted round and the pendant. Create a mirror image of the beaded pattern just before the pendant so that both sides of the necklace match.
Step four: Attach the end of the wire to the last link of the brass chain using a crimp tube. Cover the crimp tube with a crimp cover.
