| Artbeads.com knows that each bead we sell has a story. Some of those stories go back to 30,000 B.C.. Other beads have much more recent histories.
These stories involve the history of humankind. Our inventions and culture are reflected in beads. In fact, they are the oldest and most universal art form, and have manifested many meanings, from protection to currency, status, culture and more.
It seems that it is in our nature to adorn and symbolize, or celebrate the latest advance or discovery by drilling a hole in it and wearing it on a string. The history of beads is so closely related to the history of humankind and technology, that to describe one means to also chronicle the others.
