 | Show your support or celebrate your survival with this beautiful breast cancer awareness pink ribbon watch.
All watches should be made fairly tight, because the faces are heavy and will naturally want to swing to the back of your wrist. This one is only 6 ½ inches, you will need to measure carefully and add the right amount of beads for your wrist. Any time you have bulk, whether it be through big beads or multi strands like this, you will want to measure the inside diameter on the EZ Bracelet Sizer. When you measure flat, your design will appear to be longer than it is when closed.
Step one: Cut generous lengths of wire. You will need four pieces of equal lengths. We began with eight inch pieces to finish with a two inch length on each side of the watch. There is a lot of beading going on at once in this piece, so be sure to have your Bead Stoppers on hand to help you keep everything tidy. Place one end of two of the wires in a Bead Stopper and begin stringing your beads and spacers randomly. Once you feel you have enough beads to create one side of your watch band (allowing for the cones and clasp) add two silver rounds and string it through the jump ring on one side of the watch face. Continue beading until you have two even lengths of beads on a doubled wire. Hold both ends in the Bead Stopper and repeat the process with another wire on the same side.
Step two: Using the same process, repeat step one for the other side of the watch band. To measure for length, pull all four wires on one side through a 3mm crimp and then through the open cone. Pull them as tight as you can without straining the wire. Do not crimp the tube! Do the same on the other side and hold the ends together to measure the length on your wrist. Allow about an inch for the clasp and jump rings. At this point add or remove beads as needed to get the correct length. If you find after adding the cones that the band is still to short, you can always add more beads in a single strand before adding the clasp.
Step three: Remove the cones and crimp the wires together in the 3mm crimp tube using a Mighty Crimper. Trim three of the wires flush with the crimp tube and add the cone, stringing the remaining wire through the cone. Loop the wire through a jump ring that you have attached to the toggle clasp and crimp with a 2x2mm crimp tube. Leave a bit of room for the wire to move on the jump ring. The cones are big and if crimped to close, it will be hard to clasp the toggle. If at this point your design is still too short, you can always add more jump rings!
