Azure Wings Pendant Instructions Designed by Cynthia Kimura
With this simple "Azure Wings" design you are just minutes away from creating your own stunning pendant that will look like it was purchased from a high-end boutique. This pendant melds vintage charm with colorful contemporary artistry for an eye-catching result.
Step one: To construct this design, we purchased balsa wood, butterfly-themed scrapbooking paper and opaque light-blue acrylic paint from a craft store. Feel free to choose your own theme and colors. Cut a 1.5x1.5-inch piece of wood and a 1.5x1.5-inch piece of scrapbooking paper. Paint the wood and allow to dry per the instructions on the bottle.
Step two: Brush Nunn Design adhesive over one side of the wood. Carefully rest the image over the glue and gently press. Allow to dry.
Step three:. Brush Nunn Design sealant over the image and let dry for 20 minutes.
Step four: Next, apply a layer of Nunn Design Gel du Soleil glaze over the image. Use a jewel setter to place a Swarovski SS9 XILION rose flatback in meridian blue, over the glaze, on each wing of the butterfly. Place an antique vintage brass-plated pewter fancy link on the glaze so that the top loop hangs over the top-center of the square, this will serve as the bail for your pendant. Pop any surfaced air bubbles with a needle. Place under a UV lamp and let cure for 20 minutes.
