Q: What is a jump ring for?
A: Jump rings are a very basic component in jewelry making and should have a
place in every beader's box. They are connectors used for attaching components together, such as adding a clasp at the end of a necklace. To use an open jump ring, twist it open sideways with two pairs of pliers, slide the components you are attaching together onto one end of it, and twist it closed again.
