Mediterranean lentil beads make a contemplative mermaid seem at home on this ocean-themed necklace. This eye-catching design is a perfect way to celebrate the warm summer days ahead, and it is easy enough for beginners to complete.
For help applying Ice Resin, please visit the Handy Tips section in the Learning Center. There is enough resin in the Ice Resin Kit to make dozens of pieces.
Step one: Cut the desired image from our collage sheet of bathing beauties or choose your own image. Tack the image to the antique silver-plated pewter beaded round picture frame using Mod Podge or other sealer. Make a batch of Ice Resin. Pour the resin into the frame until it forms a slight mound. Allow to cure completely. When the charm is dry, attach a sterling silver open jump ring.
Step two: Cut a 20-inch piece of ZambaPro 49 .019 30ft jewelry wire and attach it to one of the loops on the Hill Tribe silver starfish s-clasp using a sterling silver 2x2mm crimp tube. String 24 4mm light brown round cat's eye beads, one silver antique small Turkish heishi spacer, one 5x4mm amber with opal Picasso roundelle and one heishi spacer and seven cat's eye beads.
Step three: String one spacer, one roundelle, one spacer and one Mediterranean lentil bead. Repeat this pattern two more times. Then, string one spacer and one roundelle. Add the mermaid charm. This is the mid-point of the necklace. To finish the design, create a mirror image of the beads already on the strand, ending with a crimp tube that attaches the wire to the second loop on the clasp.
