Spears of color make this delicate necklace pop in art deco style!
Step one: Make three identical dangles by stringing a 4mm Swarovski burgundy pearl followed by a 4mm Swarovski light peach pearl, a 6mm light amethyst bicone, another light peach pearl and another burgundy pearl on a 2 inch sterling silver head pin. Finish the dangles with a simple loop. For detailed instructions on how to make a simple loop, please visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center. Set these pieces aside.
Step two: This necklace is a series of lengths of chain connected by beaded links. We have found the most effective way to assemble this is by creating all of the links and then connecting everything when you finish. The beaded links are strung on sterling silver eye pins and consist of a 4mm Swarovski peach pearl followed by a sterling silver disc spacer, a 4mm light amethyst Swarovski cube, sterling disc spacer, and another Swarovski peach pearl. Finish the link with a simple loop. Repeat this step until you have eight links.
Step three: Cut nine lengths of chain to approximately one inch. You may add length to the chain segments to add length to the overall necklace, but make sure you have an odd number of links in each segment. We used nine links in our example.
Step four: To assemble the necklace, open one loop on an eye pin link, slide the last loop from a chain segment, and close again using your round nose pliers. Add another segment of chain to the other end of the link and continue until you have used all of your components.
Step five: Attach the clasp using open jump rings to link the chain to the toggle.
Step six: Attach the dangles to the necklace by finding the center link of the chain and opening the loop of a dangle to attach it to the link of chain. Close again with your round nose pliers. Repeat on the two segments of chain that frame the center.
